There’s a touch of techni-color in this retro scene; classic styles are given a contemporary touch – there’s that familiar Dsquared2 character.

Weathered work-wear is made smart; laborers in thick fabrics of the softest wools and dressed in tweeds and plaids. Jackets are bunched-in and wired to keep you moving even when you are not.  Un-tucked dress shirts slip out to reveal scalloped edging and give a slouchy feel. Loosely hanging, worn out, but carefully pressed, cropped big brother jeans are paired with polished three-quarter length coats cut with the sharpest tailoring in classic camel.  The look is entirely accidently-on-purpose.

From the backstreets to New Orleans to the basements of Paris it's time to blow your trumpet, wax that hair, shine those shoes and hit the town with a seriously cool cat swagger.

The first edition of the GQ Portugal “Men of the Year Award” was held this Saturday in Lisbon. The evening paid tribute to the best international talents.

Dean and Dan Caten, designers of Dsquared², were awarded the prestigious award “Fashion Icon of the Year”.

“We are honored to receive an important recognition such as the GQ Award. It is very gratifying that our work is appreciated and recognized in this amazing country that we love”, said the famous designers.

In 2007, Dean and Dan Caten were also presented with the GQ Spain “Man of the Year Award” for the category “Best Designer”.

A SHORT HISTORY OF A FABULOUS COLLABORATION

The world famous Canadian Singer, Michael Bublé and the Dsquared2 designers Dean & Dan Caten, have much more in common than just being Canadian by birth, and for having a shared love for that modern, slim-fit silhouette from the Dsquared2 Classic Line.  The partnership began when the twins suited up the singer for the closing ceremony of the 2011 Winter Olympics in Canada.  Michael then asked the twins to help him dress for his wedding to the Argentinean beauty Luisana Lopilato, and from that moment on a firm friendship ensued, and Dean & Dan have been more than happy to provide outfits for Michael on a variety of occasions, giving the singer their own special brand of ‘cool’.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO FOR THIS WAREDROBE CHALLENGE?

First off, don’t worry about making a big investment, the products you use does not need to be Dsquared2.  The challenge is to try and style it with us in mind – in other words, your retro looks need to look Dsquared2-sexy!
